Michaela Togias, a 10-year-old Sydney girl will travel to Manchester in January to take part in a tournament.

Many English Premier League scouts took a keen interest in her after they watched a game, seeing her potential to play professionally in the future.

Manchester United and Manchester City scouts watched her at the Global Football Network showcase, which takes place over 2 days, with 7 hours of training each day.

Within this camp, girls aged from 10-19 came in hopes of winning a sporting scholarship for colleges. Togias was the youngest there.

“There were 60 girls at the showcase and I was a little nervous because I was the youngest and smallest there, but I just gave it my all and had fun,” Michaela said.

After the camp, scouts came and explained to her parents that she had what it takes to play in the UK.

Michaela said that she was a huge fan of Tottenham Hotspurs, which plays in the Premier League, and was ecstatic upon hearing the news that she would be travelling to the UK.

“To think that in a few months’ time I’ll be playing in the UK is like a dream come true,” Michaela said.

She wanted to represent her country, just like how Sam Kerr and England Captain Harry Kane did.

John Pladas, the director of the Director of Global Football Network stated that “Michaela was outstanding over the two days the footballers showcased themselves in Sydney.”

“Michaela took in all the information provided by our EPL scouts Andy and Luke and although she was one of the youngest trialists*, her maturity, attitude and ability certainly stood out,” he said.
