Soccer is a famous but dangerous sport due to the risk of injury, especially for those of an older age. But then walking soccer came to life. Walking soccer is a brand new sport that allows players to walk while playing regular soccer. Walking soccer is an activity that is safer than traditional soccer, which helps reduce mental and physical problems.
Walking soccer can be played on a smaller field than traditional soccer. It is played with 6 players on each team, not with 11 players. There are over 28 countries that play in the walking soccer cup.
Gary Clark’s life is mostly about regular soccer. He has played soccer ever since he was 7 years old and he has played for 4 years. At the age of 48, he found out that he needed a knee replacement because of of an injury from playing soccer. He used to play on the field, but then his cartilage on his other knee ripped apart.
Walking soccer fits on a wide range of age because of its safety rules like instead of running, we walk. This is made for everyone to play daily and to enjoy.
Shaun Sherrick is 62 now and he is in one of the walking soccer teams. He encourages others to play.
“Walking football has become an important part of our lives with our training and matches, but we never forget we are a community team,” Sherrick said. “Play to stay fit, play to laugh, and your football family will grow.”
Walking soccer can really help a human’s body develop and it is fun to play. Walking soccer becomes the new safe version of soccer.
