Beyoncé Giselle Knowles used to be a hairdresser and is now a dancer, actress, businesswoman, and one of the world’s best-selling musical artists! The point is, she is really famous and successful. What about Beyoncé makes her such a powerful, successful woman?

Beyonce was born on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas. She looked up to many celebrities. When she was nine years old, she went to Star Search, which is a talent show. Sadly, she lost, but she knew that it was ok to fail. She wasn’t going to give up.

When she became a teenager, she made a singing group with her friends, Destiny’s Child. Beyonce was the lead singer of the group, and the other people in the group were: Kelly Rowland, Letoya Luckett, and La’Tavia Roberson. They ended up getting their first Grammy Award in 2000, for a very popular song, “Say My Name.” Three years later, she began her singing career solo. In just ONE year, she earned five Grammy Awards! Destiny’s Child also reunited to make another song.

Nowadays, Beyonce has inspired many people, just like how the other celebrities inspired Beyonce when she was little.
