Katie Ledecky, born on March 17, 1997, in Bethesda Maryland, is a completive swimmer. She is known as the greatest female swimmer of all time.

In her childhood, she attended Stone Ridge School of Sacred Heart. She trained with the Nation’s Captain swim club, and she was first coached by Yuri Sugiyama, followed by Bruce Germmal after Yuri died.

Her parents David Ledecky and Mary Gen always supported her dreams. In college, she went to Stanford and earned her psychology degree while swimming for the University’s team.

Since then, Ledecky has won 41 medals: 33 gold 7 silver, and 1 bronze. She won 6 gold medals in the Olympics and 13 at the world champion cup. Ledecky is one of the world record holders for the 800- and 1500-meter freestyle. She holds the fastest time in the women’s 500 -1000- and 1650-yard freestyle.

Ledecky holds 3 world records the 400-, 800-, and 1800- freestyle. Ledecky first set the world record in the 400-freestyle swim in 2014. The most famous competition she went to is in Tokyo Japan 2021.
