On the Fitz

Ted Nolan

By: Jason Shen

Ted Nolan is an indigenous hockey player that was born on April 7, 1958 and played for the teams, Rochester Americans, Baltimore Skipjacks, New York Islanders, Detroit Red Wings, and Pittsburgh Penguins. He also became head coach for both the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and the Buffalo Sabres.

Ted Nolan has recently gotten an official hockey card along with 8 other indigenous hockey players. He has been playing professional hockey without an official hockey card for over 40 years. He hasn’t gotten a hockey card until now because he is a native american. It happened when Naim Cardinal, a card collector, realized that so many indigenous players never got an official hockey card. He eventually was able to work on the biographies and stats of the players.
