The Life of a Dog Part 3

By: Amanda Dolan

“Mwahahaha!” the Evil King of the Dogs rose onto his hind legs, looming over SuperCoco. “You shall never get the Enchanted Bone! Never, I repeat, NEVER!” As he laughed madly, SuperCoco quickly thought of possible escape plans. There was no way he could possibly defeat the Evil King of the Dogs when he had the Enchanted Bone! So for now, SuperCoco needed to come up with an escape plan.

Thinking had never occurred to SuperCoco before. It had always been up to his powers. Never once had he had to use his brain to save the world. This was going to be hard. SuperCoco might have a split second to think of some kind of escape plan and use it, before the EKD would read his mind!

“Hah!” EKD roared. “You really thought that you could escape?!” SuperCoco froze. A feeling SuperCoco had never felt before sank in. The feeling of doom. “I can read your mind, you fly-brain!” How had the EKD already readSuperCoco’s mind? And how could the EKD call the great and mighty hero, SuperCoco, a fly-brain?! That was so utterly rude of him!

“Noooooo!” SuperCoco howled in pain as the EKD used the power of the Enchanted Bone against him. Cuts began to form all over him. Blood poured out of his mouth like a waterfall. “You-you can’t! You can’t do this to the poor and innocent dogs! I won’t let you!” He roared. “The Enchanted Bone has too much power to handle and I won’t let you use it I won’t I won’t I won’t!” He screamed in frustration and pain.

SuperCoco screamed as though his heart was bursting out of his chest. His own blood leaked into his lungs, slowly filling it up. He wheezed and coughed up more blood. It fountained out, pouring all over the ground. As more cuts began to appear all over him, blood squirted out, like a water gun firing water that had been dyed red.

“It’s too late for you,” the EKD snarled. “You should just give up and die, you pathetic brother.”

“B-brother?” SuperCoco sputtered. He choked while examining the EKD like never before.

“Hah!” the EKD growled. “You didn’t already know? I’m your brother! Your twin!” He tore away his mask, revealing fluffy, black fur, just like SuperCoco’s.

“No no no no no!” SuperCoco roared. “It’s not true, you’re making this up to distract me! It’s all lies! It’s all smoke and mirrors!” But SuperCoco had a sinking feeling that the EKD was right, that this was all true. SuperCoco shook his head vigorously with clenched teeth.

As he gasped in pain, blood fell from his mouth and splattered everywhere. “No.” He whispered with his last bit of breath. Then, he collapsed, his world spinning into darkness. SuperCoco, the great and mighty hero, the strongest and greatest of them all, had fallen.
