The Quest of a Lifetime

On the Fitz

The Quest of a Lifetime

“How do we get there?” Jack asked as we were walking out of the Fire Nation.

“We should just follow the map, I guess,” Natilie said as she was looking at the map.

“Natilie, do you mind handing me the bottle of water? It’s empty and I need to refill it,” I said.

Natilie looked at Jack as if trying to tell him to get it for her. Jack probably thought this as well and rushed to get the bottle. While Jack handed me the bottle, Natalie gave me the map.

“Why are you giving this to me? I need to refill this,” I said as I pointed to the bottle. I looked at the map and saw what she wanted me to see. It was a purple dot.

“See what I wanted you to see, Crystal!” Natilie said, completely pissed.

“Yeah I get that now, sorry,” I said weakly. I gave the map back and went toward the bushes. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Jack looking at me like he was wondering what I was doing.

“By the way, Jack, I am refilling the bottle. And in case you were wondering, I am a WATER ELF so I can get clean water out of plants,” I said confidently. Jack looked stunned, like I had read his mind. We continued walking toward the mountain and as we went toward the mountains it became foggier. Then I had a brilliant idea. I could make it easier for us to see by making a barrier of water to clear the way. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the droplets inside the fog. When I opened my eyes, I saw Natilie and Jack looking at me like I was famous. I looked behind them and it worked. We could see the path clearly, with the crystal-clear water around us like a frozen bubble. No other elves control ice because it is so stiff.

“How did you do that?” Natilie and Jack asked at the same time.

I shrugged my shoulders. “I just tried to concentrate on finding the air tribe friend and the droplets and… BAM! There you have it. Water all around you, frozen. What about you try doing something cool with your powers like how I did it with mine?” I looked at them curious if they could also unlock a special ability like how I did.

Natilie was trying to figure out what to do. She rushed to Jack’s bag and took out a piece of metal, then bent it in thin air. Jack and I looked shocked. How did she know that there was metal in his bag, and how did she bend it without breaking a sweat?

“That was so cool!” Natilie said, squealing. Now she was playing with the metal, bending it and turning it into different shapes. As she bent the metal at her will Jack and I were looking at the metal in amazement.

I looked at Jack. He was trying to figure out how to do something different, and it seemed that Natilie sensed that too.

Both of us said reassuringly, “Don’t worry, we’re going to help you figure it out.”

Then I said, “For now what about we go up the mountain and find the person on the Map of Destiny, okay?” We all got going, closing in on the Air Tribe Mountains.
