Cracker Barrel’s Facebook Post About Its New Impossible Burgers Has Started a War

On Monday, Cracker Barrel announced on Facebook a new option on the menu for impossible meat, saying customers should “discover new meat frontiers”.

“Experience the out of this world flavor of Impossible™ Sausage Made from Plants next time you Build Your Own Breakfast,” said Cracker Barrel in their post, which showed a picture of eggs, hash browns, and two patties with a toothpick labeled impossible stuck into one.

Thousands of people have expressed anger, amusement, and even some political thoughts. “All the more reason to stop eating at Cracker Barrel,” one commenter wrote. “This is not what Cracker Barrel was to be all about.” Some people were angry at Cracker Barrel for siding politically, but one person wrote, “Imagine getting upset because a menu option exists at a restaurant. Relax, Trumpers.”

Those who weren’t focused on politics shared their personal preferences, “I’m not a rabbit,” one Facebook user wrote. “I love meat!! Lettuce is as far as I’ll go.” Meanwhile, another Facebook user said, “Plant based is the future! Everyone stops eating carcasses and eats plants.”

When asked, a Cracker Barrel spokesperson said, “We appreciate the love our fans have for our all-day breakfast menu. At Cracker Barrel, we’re always exploring opportunities to expand how our guests experience breakfast and provide choices to satisfy every taste bud.”
