On July 30th, 2022, Pat Carroll was found dead in her home in Massachusetts. The 95-year-old suffered and died from pneumonia. Her appearance on many popular shows made her a household name.
Pat Carroll is an Emmy and Grammy award winner for her voice acting skills. She had a lifelong acting career starting from 1947 to 2020. She was also known as a comedian and actress as well. Ms. Carroll was nominated for many comedy series awards. She was also chosen six times as best lead, supporting, and outstanding actress. At the time of her death, Carroll had an impressive 100 film credits to her name.
Ms. Carroll was not one known for beating around the bush. She always got straight to the point and was not afraid to be truthful. After her debut show, she was asked about acting jobs she desired to have. “My desire before I kicked the bucket was to do a Disney film,” said Pat Carroll on “The Complete Pioneers of Television Interview.” She got the job following six auditions and played Ursula in 1989 popular movie ‘The Little Mermaid.’ Ursula was nominated for best villain multiple times.
Pat Carroll was such a well-known stage actress that she was unbeatable for two decades. In 1957 after her outstanding jokes on Caesar’s Hour, she earned an Emmy and was nominated to come back again to the show the following year. Her performance as Ursula in The Little Mermaid was spectacular enough to get her invited to perform the role again in theme parks and sequels. “There is nothing more beautiful than Pat Carroll laughing,” says Tara Karsian, daughter of Pat Carroll.
A full explanation on Ms. Carroll’s death has not yet been released to the public. It was confirmed that she was recovering after a long battle with pneumonia. “…she leaves my sister Kerry and I with the greatest gift of all, imbuing us with humor and the ability to laugh…even in the saddest of times,” praises Tara Karsian, daughter of Ms. Carroll. Pat Carroll left behind two daughters, Kerry and Tara Karsian.
Many will remember Carroll for her long and industrious career.
