A fire broke out at an illegally built nightspot in the Chonburi Province in Thailand called Mountain B, causing 13 people at the nightclub to die. Three dozen were also injured, some more than others.
Police arrived at the scene and investigated the cause of the tragedy that happened at the bar. While investigating the crime, police discovered that Night club owner, Pongsiri Panprasong, opened the nightclub illegally and registered it as a restaurant.
One witness who chose to go by the name Nana said that she was at the back of the bar when she saw a fire emerging from the ceiling.
“I saw flames above the stage, on the right side,” she said. “The singer onstage saw it too at about the same time, and he shouted ‘fire!’ and threw the mic at it.”
While desperately trying to flee the fire inside, she saw many people catching on fire. The pub only recently opened. “I saw a lot of the pub’s bouncers covered in flames inside,” she added.
Many photos have been posted online of what remains of the nightclub, everything inside the building being charred. Many people think the fuel of the fire was the flammable soundproofing material on the walls.
