People struggling to deal with heat waves in America and Europe

Recently, people from all around the world are struggling with dangerous heat waves. In many places, the temperatures are much higher than normal time for this time of year. As a result, governments are trying to implement changes to better protect their citizens.

There are lots of heat waves around the world. One place heat waves cover much places is America. “Over 100 million Americans are currently being affected by dangerous temperatures,” says the US National Weather Service. To prevent more Americans from being affected by dangerous heat, many governments are setting up “cooling centers” to help people stay out of the heat. States like Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado have temperatures rise higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, while places like Spain, France, and Portugal have gotten 31 degrees Fahrenheit hotter.

Many countries in Europe are also soon facing their second heat wave. For example, in southern France, the average temperature last month was 17 degrees Celsius! “27 areas matched or beat their highest temperatures ever,” says the New York Times.

Furthermore, In Portugal, not only do they have heat waves, but they also have “extreme droughts”. For example, the “extreme droughts” are caused by the heat waves that are attacking these countries which make the governments force their people to use limited water.
