Analyzing Point of View

Gr. 6-8

At our lab, we reviewed how to identify the narrator’s “point of view” when reading.

Your assignment:

1. Reread the excerpts from the wolf’s perspective that we covered in class.

2. Write a 100-word argument for each side of the following debate: “Should homework be required?”

2 x 100 words total:

100 words for “Yes” side

100 words for “No” side

Think outside the box! Use what you know about the different points of view, such as words that indicate the 1st person or 3rd person. Also keep in mind the different effects these perspectives have on the reader.

The point of this exercise is to challenge yourself to understand another person’s perspective, and think creatively and fairly.
