Once there was a Pomeranian dog named Happy. He had fluffy fur and big eyes. He was very happy all the time. One day, he fell into a hole. He cried out as he fell. Ruff! he barked. That night, a star fell into his hole. Happy licked it curiously. Then, suddenly the star exploded, and Happy said, Ruff woof going on? Happy asked. Happy covered his face with his paws, alarmed. He now realized that he could now speak English and walk on two paws.

He climbed out of the hole, put on a coat, boots, and a hat, and walked to his owner. His owner screamed, her face white with terror, and called 9-1-1. “Who is it?” his owner screamed. Happy quickly said, “It’s me, Happy!” His owner froze and said, “It can’t be you. You don’t know how to speak and stand on two legs and put on clothes.” So Happy explained what happened, and his owner believed him.

The next day, he went to his dog school. He met up with his friends, and his friends asked him, Ruff woof arf arf? Happy replied, “Sorry, I can’t speak Dog anymore.” His friends seemed to know what was going on, and they left him alone. The dog trainer also seemed alarmed. “Who said that?” he asked nervously. “Sorry, it’s me. I can’t speak Dog anymore.” Happy replied. The dog trainer replied, “Sorry, Happy, then maybe you should try a human school instead.” “Okay,” Happy replied. He walked out and told his owner. His owner was very sad, and then she had a good idea! He would go to regular school!

The next day, his owner excitedly told him that she had signed him up for regular school. Happy walked in, and the teacher asked him, “What is your name?” Happy replied, “Bob.” Bob sat down at a desk. He tried to hold a pencil, and he did it! Happy wrote “Bob” on his worksheet and started doing math. Nobody suspected a thing.

After school, his owner ran up to Happy and they walked home. Happy told his owner what had happened at school. His owner was very proud of him. As Happy walked home, he saw his best friend, Chips. Chips tried to talk to him, but Happy couldn’t speak Dog anymore. So Happy walked away feeling very sad.

That night, Happy fell into another hole. “Ahhhhhh!” he screamed as he fell. Not again, he thought. Then, a star exploded in his hole. What’s going to happen ruff ruff? Happy wondered. Happy then realized what had happened. He was very happy. He now was back to a normal dog. He ran around, wagging his tail. But he could only speak Dog now. But he was okay with it, because now he could talk to his human friends. He went inside, and his owner figured out what happened. “I guess you’re back to normal!” his owner exclaimed, patting his head. Next, Happy decided to try human food. He tried Doritos, and he spit it out. His owner laughed and his owner made french fries. He tasted it. He loved it! He told his owner that, and then from then on, he only ate french fries and dog food.

The next day, Happy’s owner called his dog trainer and told him what happened; she then told the school that “Bob” wouldn’t go there anymore.

Later, Chips and his friends asked Happy what his favorite food was. Happy responded, “French fries!”
