At the start line
Pumped and ready to go
Eyes sparkling
I rub my hands together
Ready to take on the challenge
I’m at 100% battery
Halfway through
Barely making it
I feel like mud’s slugging at my feet
I drag my feet
Like an ashamed toddler
Just told off
I slouch like a deflated balloon
Not sure if I’ll ever make it
I am but a mere dot
On this seemingly
Endless pathway
So small, so little
But if I just make it…
I could change my world
Oh, how proud I would feel!
The achievement!
But I’m nowhere near
Finish line,
It’s far off in the distance
The internal mud keeps growing
Too thick
Trapped
In the middle
My battery’s slowly dying
Like a flickering light bulb
Turned on for too long
How will this end?
