What I Saw in the Starry River

By: Caroline Yao

When we sailed for the moon

The sun made way

Among the gray hills

While rosy fingered dawn

Danced over waves

On bridges of cloud

And as the cool night breeze

Cast our ship

To blue-black water

We couldn’t help but think

How lucky we were

To sail the Starry River
