School bells ring,
The end of school it brings.
It seems just yesterday,
we began school, you say.
We’ve looked forward to this day for so long.
Yet we leave with tears in our eyes.
Crying over teachers,
Hanging on to our friendships
The things we took for granted,
never the same.
The hallway crowd,
All gone, with no one to blame.
The lunch lines,
never again.
The crowded entrance during the morning,
never again.
At least for 3 months anyway.
Then back to the school.
Back to the monotonous cycle.
Endless and grueling.
Until the fateful day comes.
The last day of school.
The tears shed again.
