One day, in Pixie Hollow the Crystal Cavern formed into a monster. This monster has a big crystal lying in the center of its body. The head Pixie, Noivern, says that because of the crystal, the monster can only be defeated if a Pixie finds a Heart of The Sea, which is a magical blue globe that has the same crystal in the middle of the orb, just like the monster.

No one, not even the smartest pixie, has discovered the reason the monster formed. Some say it was because the monster comes out every 20 million years, and others say it is because the crystal has formed to its biggest size, which compared to a human hand, is not very big.

After doing a lot of research the Pixie scientists discovered that the crystal is blue, green, and gold. The scientists also said that only a certain type of Pixie will be able to retrieve the crystal.

Some of the scientists in Pixie Hollow do not believe the crystal exists. They say it has not been seen since the first dinosaur roamed the earth. The fairies of Pixie Hollow don’t listen, and one by one, the fairies disappear for days.

Despite this, Noivern says they are making progress because the only two fairies that survived came back with helpful but devastating news. They said that the crystal is lying deep in the ocean, where air is the rarest source. The two fairies say the ones that didn’t survive were out of breath, even with the scientist’s air potion.

The Pixies thought that the monster would disappear, but two weeks later, it grew a lot bigger. That is when the Pixie scientists discovered that the monster ages. It is also when the Pixies started to worry. The only solution for the Pixies was to fly down the void, then create an island with their magic. Eventually, they stopped sending people to the Heart of the Sea, but the fairies suffered from the lack of air in the void too. They hope that after fifty years, the monster will disappear. Head Pixie says that 50% of the fairies have dissolved into the air (The process of a Pixie dying).

“We are running out of resources, and we cannot go to the surface because of the monster, Noivern says. Their fate relies on their hope.
