A difficult subject for new Genshin Impact players is how to build their characters. Whether it is leveling up artifacts, weapons, or talents, it may be confusing what to prioritize first. There are many resources on the internet about teaching inexperienced players how to build their characters, but it may be hard to take all the information in.
Genshin Impact is an action role-playing game made by the Chinese gaming company Mihoyo. The game has an open-world anime-style landscape and an action-based fighting system with elemental magic and character change. It is available for free and is commercialized using gacha game mechanisms, which allow users to earn additional characters and weapons. The main game is often enhanced by updates that use the games as a model service.
Characters are obtainable units in Genshin Impact. They come in different rarities (4-star and 5-star), are aligned with an element, equitable with a specific weapon, and belong in a region. Characters can be primarily obtained through Intertwined Fates and Acquaint Fates (purchased with Primogems through also available through events, quests, and monthly for Masterless Stardust or Masterless Starglitter at Paimon’s Bargains) to perform wishes.
Artifacts are items that can be equipped on characters to increase their stats. There are 5 types of artifacts that can be equipped: Flower of Life, Plume of Death, Sands of Eon, Goblet of Eonothem, and Circlet of Logos.
All Artifacts have a main affix, commonly known as a main stat, with up to 4 minor affixes, commonly known as sub stats or secondary stats. These affixes can greatly increase the character’s strength in combat. Certain artifact types, such as the Flower of Life and Plume of Death, can only come with a specific main stats, while other types can come with one of many main stats.
Artifacts can be collected through enemy drops, chests, and domains, making it difficult to build up characters due to their randomized stats. Therefore, making it the least important out of our list. Plus, in order to obtain a certain artifact set, players would need to farm domains on specific days in order to get the artifacts they want, which could take weeks due to the randomized selection.
Talents, on the other hand, are simpler. Talents are special abilities that characters possess. They are split into two types: Combat and Passive. Most characters have three Combat Talents and three Passive Talents. The three combat talents are normal attack, elemental skill, and elemental burst. Each are easier to build due to the simplicity of what role you want your character to fall into. Physical, main DPS, sub DPS, support, and healer.
Weapons are by far the easiest to build. Even though you must collect certain materials in domains, stats in weapons remain the same for each duplicate you receive.
