Fortnite, one of the biggest gaming companies, has just introduced Metallica into their game on June 12, 2024. (97.1 The Point ,2024). You might be asking: who is Metallica and why they are in Fortnite?

Fortnite was published by Epic Games on July 21, 2017. It was instantly popular with 125 million people playing in less than a year. The app started including skins and events to boost their popularity. The app also added people’s favorite singers. Now it has included Metallica.

Metallica is an American heavy metal band that rose to fame in the 1980s. They created speed metal, a type of heavy metal where you play at the fastest speed possible. They’re in Fortnite because they want to get everybody in the mood to rock out. (Gamerant,2024) Fortnite will also be hosting a concert with them and showing off some of their greatest hits.

People in the 2000s have probably never heard of Metallica until they grew on Tik Tok. People used their songs because they thought they were catchy. If it was catchy, it would become trending. Fortnite might also have put Metallica in Fortnite because they wanted to put their favorite childhood songs back in to make them famous again.

Nonetheless, people love Metallica songs and they been popping up again all because of Tik Tok and Instagram. Along with Metallica, there are also other singers that are in Fortnite. Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande are just some people that got put into Fortnite.
