Fans left unsatisfied with “House Of The Dragon”

The second season of HBO’s Prequel to “Game of Thrones” is off to a mediocre start. The highly successful “Game of Thrones” now has a prequel. They claim it is boring, as almost 3 hours and 45 minutes is solely for dialogue.

The season begins with Rhaenyra and Aegon plotting for battle in their castles. Rhaenyra is supposed to be the heir to the throne, but Aegon took the throne, and now Rhaenyra is in exile with her uncle, Daemon. The show centers on questions of ‘who will take the throne’ and ‘how many will die.’

However, fans are left hanging, as most battles are offscreen, and the main attraction of the show — the fierce and beastly dragons— are now obedient (and boring).

The show just isn’t interesting enough to pull the audience in. Critic Mike Hale from The New York Times says “the production is solid but static.” They also claim that while the geography and architecture is there, it is nowhere near as grand as in the original show.

While some fans disagree, most share these thoughts, and they hope that the 3rd season will improve. Mike Hale claims that small bursts of action are spaced out by extremely long and boring conversations.

Despite the criticism, the show has been renewed for a third season. Will the show improve and give us the action we desire, or will it remain as boring and drab as ever?
