Have you ever seen a bird fly? It’s probably really cool. But guess what? They weren’t always amazing fliers. They were once little tiny birdies, half the size of your palm, who were very scared and maybe even a little clumsy.
Pip, a little bird, stood at the edge of his nest. His tummy rumbled for breakfast, but he was way too scared to jump down and try flying. His siblings and parents had already taken the plunge and were now cheering him on.
Some people might think he’s a big scaredy cat, but here’s the thing: Everyone is scared sometimes, even birds! Maybe you’re scared to try out for the soccer team. That’s okay! Pip’s parents keep telling him that he can do it and that he’s braver than he thinks.
Then, finally, Pip does it! He jumps out of the nest and flies! It’s a little wobbly at first, but then he quickly gets the hang of it.
This is what you can learn from Pip: We can all do scary things, even if we’re scared to do them. All it takes is a little bit of bravery, just like Pip. And maybe a friend, sibling, or parent cheering you on.
So next time you’re scared to try something new, remember Pip! Take a deep breath, try it, and see what happens. You might surprise yourself!
The world needs more brave people, not scaredy cats! Let’s be like Pip and find the courage to do the things you want!
