Rice

By: Tiffany Han

Bill went to the Great Mall.
In the Mall was a wall.
On the wall was a photo
Of a rice shop in Kyoto.

All of a sudden,
because Bill was a glutton,
his belly grumbled.
Then he started to mumble,

“Rice, rice, rice.
Rice is very nice.
I want to go to eat a bit,
But I have no money for it.”

So Bill found his sister,
and asked her
for ten bucks,
just this once.

His sister said,
“If I said no instead,
You would just beg,
So give me a sec.”

She gave Bill ten dollars
And told him to go no further
Than the bakery
Or else she’s telling mommy.

Bill agreed to the deal,
Then set out for his meal.
Then Bill stopped
At a rice shop.

The prices were really cheap.
Seventy dollars is enough for a week.
A bowl of rice was only three,
It was pretty much free.

Bill thought,
“I’m very distraught.
The prices don’t go over seven,
So why’d I ask for ten?”
