Taylor Swift’s TTPD Album Hits Most Weeks at No.1

Taylor Swift’s newest album, The Tortured Poets Department (T.T.P.D.), has hit the 11th week mark at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart and is still looking strong. The TTPD album started at No. 1 back in April 2024, with record breaking numbers, and hasn’t left that ranking since.

The Billboard 200 album chart ranks albums by their streams and sales numbers. It can tell you what rank the album is at, what the album’s highest ranking is, and how many weeks it’s been on the Billboard 200 chart. Both Taylor’s Fearless (2008) and 1989 (2014) albums also reached the peak of 11 weeks before, but they bobbed in and out of the number 1 spot. Meanwhile, the T.T.P.D. album has held the spot for 11 weeks straight and still has not been interrupted. It has beaten other newly released albums by Billie Eilish (Hit Me Hard and Soft), Dua Lipa (Radical Optimism), and many other artists.

In 2023, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time album had 12 weeks in a row at No.1. The Beatles hold the record for most weeks at number 1, for 132 weeks. Just last week The Tortured Poets Department had 114,000 sales in the US, including 102 million streams and 35,000 sales as a complete package, according to Luminate, a tracking service.

Throughout the weeks, the sales have benefited from “new versions” of the album, including the bonus tracks, “The Manuscript,” “The Bolter,” “The Albatross,” and “The Black Dog” that are only sold for a limited time. Taylor Swift’s streaming numbers have stayed strong for many weeks, with thirty-one songs in the album, the number of streams never falls under 100 million clicks weekly.

This week, Wallen’s One Thing at a Time is in its seventy-first week on the Billboard 200 album chart and is ranked No. 2. The album that has stayed on the Billboard 200 chart for the longest time is Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, for a record 937 weeks. Megan Thee Stallion’s Megan album is in No.3 and Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft holds in fourth place.
