Kento Nanami’s Ratio Technique Explained And Broken Down

By: Ivan Wang

You know how in video games there’s sometimes weak points in the enemies? Like how a headshot will do more damage? Well, Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen’s cursed technique, ratio, makes it possible to apply this concept to his targets.

Even though Nanami uses a sword along with his technique, this weapon is not required and you can in fact use this technique with just your hands, as Nanami has shown in the manga.

Tookaku Juno, more commonly known as the ratio technique, is Nanami’s innate technique. In its simplest form, this cursed technique is the power for Nanami to divide his targets into tenths within his own mind; then, along one of those tenths he can create weak spots. If he hits those weak points, the attack’s power increases exponentially. However, this doesn’t mean he can cut through anything even if he hits the weak points, as shown in his fight against Dagon.

The ratio technique doesn’t stop at just the entire body of his target. He states in chapter 23 that his technique can divide different parts of the target’s body into tenths at will. This means more weak points.

However, the technique can also be applied to non-living things such as walls or the ground. When he applies it to things like walls he can easily destroy them causing debris to fall and crush the enemy. This extension of the ratio technique is called garagara, or collapse. This is one of the most powerful things Nanami can do with his technique.

Compared to other techniques like Gojo’s, Nanami’s technique is rather simple and that is all you need to know about the ratio technique.
