Lemon

By: Tiffany Han

There was a lemon tree.
Sam came by and said,
“I want to see
Lemons everywhere.”

The next day,
Sam passed the lemon tree
On his way to play.
Sam was shocked.

There were lemons on the ground,
On the tree, and in the sky.
There were lemons all around,
Even on the roots?

Sam stood in disbelief.
This has got to be a dream.
He ran to the police chief,
To tell him about the wish.

“Child, please stop lying.
A wish granting lemon tree,
That is logic defying!”
The chief replied.

“I saw it! I saw it!
I’m not lying,
Not one bit!”
Sam screamed.

He stormed to the tree,
And started to scream,
“I know what I see,
and today wasn’t a dream!”

Sam yelled to the plant,
“Make yesterday a dream,
Or else I’ll rant!”
Then stormed home.

The next day,
when he woke up,
Sam started to say,
“I had a nice dream today.”

The day went on,
Sam grew up,
The memories are gone.
The lemon tree just watched it all.
