On August 10, 2024, in Vinhedo, Brazil, a major plane crash killed 62 people when it arrived near São Paulo. The plane flight was the VoePass Flight 2283. Brazilian investigators are still trying to understand why the plane going to São Paulo fell from approximately 17,000 feet in the sky on Friday.

The plane crash’s reason remains a mystery. But there were a lot of guesses on how the plane just plummeted from the sky at the height of 17,000 feet. Did it lose speed? Did ice form on its wings? Was the engine starting to fail? Or were the two pilots just distracted? But the most scientific prediction we have is that the VoePass Flight 2283 might have just stalled.

“The way the aircraft fell, spinning out of control, is characteristic of someone who lost the functionality of the wing and the aircraft controls,” explained Celso Faria, who is an aeronautical engineer and mostly an expert at plane crashes and accidents. Celso also believes and agrees that the accident is very likely to be caused by severe icing.

The crash theory so far is that the plane might have stalled, mostly because of severe icing, which means that ice was formed on its wings, increasing the weight of the plane and making the plane really hard to control. With icing on the plane’s wings, the plane has to travel at a very high speed to avoid these issues like stalling.

“You can’t get into a spin without stalling,” said John Cox. “It’s A plus B equals C,” explained John Cox, who has been an airline pilot for about 25 years and now aids in plane crash investigations.

The passengers on the flight included 4 doctors, university professors, a D.J., a bodybuilder, and a judo referee. These people didn’t deserve to die like that.
