Have you ever heard of the singer Taylor Swift? If you had, you probably thought of wanting to meet her? Well, this is the same idea these kids had. Recently, Taylor Swift announced Canadian tour dates for the Eras tour. This was a huge relief for Swifties who have been asking her to come to Canada, as many couldn’t go too far for a concert.

During the interview with CBC Kids News, Archana stated,”I was so shocked.” When she found out about the news she rushed to her moms house and asked her if she could go. Archana is only one of the Swifties that pleaded with Taylor Swift to come to Canada for a long time. On Aug. 3, Swift announced new dates for her international Eras tour, including six shows at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, in November 2024.

Although many Canadians are extremely excited that they will get the chance to go to her concert, not everybody is happy. People living outside of Toronto have to pay a large amount to take a flight there. Although Taylor is in Canada, the demand and high price of tickets also means even those close by may not be able to go.

Part of one of the biggest fandoms in the world, Archana stated that Taylor was her role model. “A lot of her songs talk about empowerment and how she faced challenges and came out strong, and that just really inspires me,” she stated. “I just love how open she is about her life and mental health,” said Eleanor. “How she expresses herself, but also how much she cares about her fans.” This shows how much her fans truly care about her, and the inspiring effect she has on people.
