Former President Donald J. Trump is facing the third set of criminal charges as a result of the 2020 election. He is the first ever U.S. president to face any criminal charges. The Federal Jury has indicted him with fraud because of the radical statements he made about the 2020 election. He tried to use Vice President Mike Pence to change the voting results.
He was also the main cause of the capitol riots that were orchestrated by the former president. Rioter broke into the building to pressure congress to stop the process of making Joe Biden president.
Mr. Pence has also admitted to the truth of some allegations against the former president. According to Kids News on December 25, when Mr. Pence called Mr. Trump to wish him a merry Christmas, the President “quickly turned the conversation to January 6 and his request that the Vice President reject electoral votes that day”. Mr. Pence replied: “You know I don’t think I have the authority to change the outcome.”
The mounting series of criminal charges has not yet seemed to affect the momentum of his 2024 presidential election campaign.
