On June 18th, 2023, a group of 5 people were lost at sea in a submersible deep in the ocean when they went to see the Titanic wreckage.

The incident caught peoples’ attention, which led to multiple questions about what went wrong with the submersible named “Titan.”

On June 19th, countries began rescue attempts on the Titan.

On June 22nd, 2023, debris from the Titan was found about half a kilometer away from the Titanic wreckage.

“The debris is consistent with a catastrophic implosion of the vessel,” said Admiral John Mauger.

Now, ships from countries all over the globe are searching for the wreckage of the sunken submersible, that is said to have imploded.

According to CBC Kids News, “It’s not clear when the implosion happened. It’s possible it happened as early as Sunday, when the submersible lost contact with its support vessel, according to a U.S. military official.”

Before the Titan went missing, the submersible departed from the dive site which was in St. John’s, Newfoundland. 90 minutes after it submerged, the support ship, Polar Prince, lost all contact with the Titan.

On June 20th and June 21st, a Canadian search and rescue plane picked up thuds and bangs in the ocean, which many people thought it was from the Titan itself. However, many advisers say that the unusual noises had nothing to do with the missing submersible.

On June 22nd, two remotely operated vehicles(ROV), and three ships set sail to find the sunken submersible.
