Former President Donald Trump was indicted for a second time on federal charges related to his handling of classified information while out of office. But Trump could still be elected—if convicted.
Trump was found in Miami, Florida, where he had documents associated with top secret and national security information. He took all these documents after he lost an election in 2020. He had an estate in Miami where he stored them in his bathroom, bedroom, and ballroom.
“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run in 2024,” Trump wrote in his announcement of the Mar-a-Lago FBI raid on Monday night.
But Trump and his supporters haven’t always been wary of the FBI’s response to handling classified information.
These documents could put America at risk. They included attack plans and weapon-related things. When documents are leaked, it harms U.S. security. It can also be dangerous for soldiers and spies, and other countries would know their plans.
Darren Mulloy says that Trump will likely have a trial for these charges in early 2024. He is a professor at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. He has a lot of knowledge about Trump. The evidence against Trump can lead to a conviction.
The claims are supported by a large amount of evidence—even from his own lawyer.
Trump had a lot of backers on his side, though, or else he would have been
convicted simply. Regardless of the supporting evidence, people can’t predict what’ll happen, and there are many things Trump can do.
