Your alarm goes off. You open your eyes to see that your dog has already woken up. It gives you a big lick in the face. It starts wagging its tail and swaying its head, and immediately your mood gets better.

If you’ve got a dog, you know getting up from bed is way easier when you have a dog that’s excited to see you.

Many people think that having a dog, let alone any pet, would be hard to own and would cause your mood and grades to go down. But according to scientific studies, that is not the case.

Spending time with dogs is good for your health because it produces Oxytocin

, known as the “love hormone,” a neurotransmitter that calms your nervous system down, relaxing you, whilst also increasing your trust.

This type of oxytocin-transmitting thing also happens to dogs. This explains why dogs wag their tails.

Nancy Gee, a producer of psychiatry, recently conducted a study about whether dogs can make you happier with eight and nine-year-olds. The kids had twice-weekly exchanges with the dogs. The result studies showed that they were less stressed and more focused. Their thinking and reasoning had also improved.
