On the Fitz

Adventures of Life

By: Chloe Sun

It hadn’t rained in weeks! Jill felt like she was going to faint any moment now, but she continued pushing through the dry grassland. After what felt like forever, she spotted something blue out of the corner of her eye: water! She squealed in excitement. She ran through the grass until she reached the river then she plunged in. When Jill plunged in, she felt the cool river water rush over her skin. Before she left, Jill pulled out a small canister and filled it to the brim with cool, refreshing water. That night Jill didn’t feel like sleeping so she descended deeper into the savanna. It was daybreak and she was exhausted, then she saw a jungle! As she ran across the grassland, she felt the sharp grass giving her splinters and cuts, but Jill didn’t care. She descended into the damp cool air of the jungle. A smell lingered in the air as she descended deeper and deeper into the jungle. The smell got stronger and stronger until she found a cave. Jill went inside, and there was a small campfire. Suddenly, she heard a squeal of surprise that there was someone else in the cave! “W-who are you?” Jill asked. “I’m Ginny,” the other voice answered, and Ginny stepped into the comforting warm light of the campfire. “Oh, hi, I’m Jill. I’m looking for a way out of the jungle.” She answered. “I’ll take you to the village,” Ginny said. “Sure!” Jill replied. “That would be even better!” “Alright follow me,” Ginny said, stepping out of the cave. She led Jill through the jungle until they stepped into a clearing. “That’s the village,” Ginny said, pointing ahead. “Thank you so much!” Jill said. “No problem,” Ginny answered. Then she turned around and disappeared into the depths of the jungle.
