Did you ever dream of living in the pineapple under the sea? Or maybe even flying to a galaxy far far away? Well, your dreams might come true in these out-of-this-world hotels.
Let’s start off with something for all dog lovers: a dog house. Dog Bark Park, also known as “Sweet Willy” is literally a house that is a dog! Have you ever wanted to cuddle with dogs, but your parents never get you one? This hotel located in Cottonwood, Idaho might not have real dogs, but the beds are dogs, even the bathrooms are dog themed, and you just can’t go anywhere without being near something dogg-ish. The hotel has an average of 4.8 star reviews.
Next on the list comes a plane hotel. What a nice way to drift off to sleep! Jumbo Stay is actually a real retired Boeing 747, and you can sleep in the cockpit! The hostel, which is basically a hotel, but you have to share a dorm with a roommate, is located on a disused runway in Stockholm, Sweden. The hostel has an average of 4.2 stars.
After sleeping in the cockpit, you might want to check out the Whitney Peak Hotel. This hotel might seem like a normal one on the inside, with bars, pretty much normal rooms, friendly staff, a gym and place for kids to play, but once you see the outside, you’ll be more than surprised. There is a 164-foot climbing wall—the Guinness World Record tallest artificial climbing wall—located on the outside of the hotel, over the iconic Reno Arch in Nevada. This hotel has an average of 4.5 stars.
Now that you’re ready for heights after climbing that wall, you might want to spend a night in a newer hotel, the famous BT tower. Earlier this year, it was announced that the BT tower would be officially converted into a hotel towering at 177 meters. The tower used to be the main hub for UK communication networks BT Group. The hotel located in London hasn’t opened yet.
“Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?” YOU! Get ready to dive into Spongebob’s pineapple (not under the sea)! The Spongebob Villa is located in Nickelodeon’s Resorts in the Dominican Republic. The one family hotel includes a life sized statue of Gary, colorful walls, and even an exact replica of Spongebob’s living room! Fortunately, the pineapple is attached to a real house, so you have space to live. Unfortunately, it costs $1800 a night…
Now that you’re in the movie theme, check out the Star Wars theme park resort in Bay Lake, Florida. Even though it may be a bit pricey at $5,000-a-stay, it is definitely worth the price, and it will go down in a few months, too. Booking a orange and white futuristic room will also give you the chance to explore arcades, restaurants, and the whole resort!
More Disney themed hotels await you, as next comes a Winnie the Pooh-themed Airbnb! The Bearbnb, as they call it, is £95 per night, and it even has “hunny.” It looks kind of like a fat tree just like the book, with “Mr. Sanders” inscribed on some wood above the big red door with tree branches above it. The stay place is located in East Sussex, UK.
Finally, I’ll recommend a little something for Shrek lovers. Airbnb also opened a replica of the Shrek set in Scotland, United Kingdom, even including the wooden porta potty. It also includes a campfire, and the blanket is even patched just like in the movie. Even the host is called “Donkey: Shrek’s best friend”! The mossy tree stump Airbnb has 2 beds and 1 bathroom for up to 3 guests, with an average of 5 stars. Wow!
