An Interview Exposed as Fake and Prince George’s 9th Birthday

This Thursday, BBC said it would pay for “substantial damages” to Alexandra Pettifer (previously known as Tiggy Legge-Bourke), the nanny of Princes William and Harry due to allegations made against her. Some of those include an affair with Prince Charles and an abortion.

The interview aired in 1995 and shocked the world. During the interview, Princess Diana (former wife of Charles) said that “there were three of us in this marriage,” referring to Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles, his current wife.

These “false and malicious” declarations were eventually proved untruthful by an independent study, which confirmed that BBC journalist Martin Bashir used fake documents and “deceitful behavior” during the meeting leading up to the interview.

William and Harry have also criticized this interview, and Bashir has since left the BBC due to medical reasons.

“I would like to take this opportunity to apologize publicly to her [Pettifer], to The Prince of Wales, and to the Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex, for the way in which Princess Diana was deceived and the subsequent impact on all their lives,” said BBC’s Director General Tim Davie. He later declared, “I have decided that the BBC will never show the program again; nor will we license it in whole or part to other broadcasters.”

However, on a lighter note, Prince George’s 9th birthday was celebrated last Friday. It is a tradition for the children of William and Catherine to have their photos taken on birthdays. In George’s birthday photo, he is dressed in pastel blue and grinning from ear to ear on an undisclosed beach in Norfolk.

On July 22nd, 2013, George was born in Paddington with much public excitement. Reporters gathered outside London’s St.

Mary’s Hospital in hopes of catching the newborn heir.

But typically, the children are kept out of the public eye. However, this year their nation celebrated the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth, their grandmother. Because of this, they have been at many events.

Most recently, George was seen in the royal’s box of Wimbledon, watching Novak Djokovic beat Nick Kyrgios.
