President Biden suddenly dropped from his campaign on July 22, 2024, on a Sunday under pressure from fellow democrats. Biden finalized his decision on a Sunday and called three people to reveal it. This caused complete chaos, and the white house is struggling to find a person to replace Biden. This decision was caused by Democrats pressuring him because of his age.

Many, including senators and representatives, thought and knew that it would be extremely hard for him to continue for another 4-year term as president, and for the sake of the country, they wanted him to pass the torch on to Vice President Harris.
During the first debate, everyone noticed Biden looked weak and sounded hoarse. Even though Biden tried to cover it up by saying that he had a cold, people suspected that that was not the case and knew it was because he was so old and wondered if Biden could be president for another 4 years. Biden has also caught diseases like COVID-19, and people think that if he continues as president, he will mostly be absent and put the country at risk. Most U.S. senators and state representatives think that Biden should pass the torch onto his vice president.[2]

Now, there is an ongoing debate on who will replace Biden. Many favor his vice president, Harris, but nobody knows who will replace him. Democratic National Convention members are gathering to discuss the next steps but they still aren’t sure of the future.
Such a scenario might leave Democrats heading into their convention without a clear nominee, though, and perhaps choosing one via a series of potentially messy floor votes.[1] Popular candidates are: California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden was pressured to drop out of the race by his fellow Democrats because they thought his age would restrict him from serving another term and would put their country in jeopardy. There is complete chaos because of the debate about who will replace him. Multiple choices like Gavin Newsome are popular, and many people are rooting for Harris
