Books

By: Chloe Ong

Books. To many others, books may just be meaningless or boring. But to me, books are like a portal taking me to another world. Whether I am in the world of Harry Potter or a bear in Seekers hunting for food or in the Hunger Games, I step into a world where I can be anyone or anything. It’s a newfound place where the laws of reality can be bent, where there’s no limit to my imagination. The words become entryways to endless possibilities. Books have the power to create feelings, emotions and new perspectives that I’ve never felt before.

Within the pages, I find not just adventure but also a mirror reflecting my own dreams and struggles. Each story serves as a gateway to empathy, allowing me to see what the characters face when going through their victories and defeats, challenges and hardships. The magic of books is that I can be immersed in worlds, rich with detail and depth, offering not only an escape from reality but different outlooks. They are not only sources of entertainment but also profound tools for personal growth and a nurturing sense of belonging, exploring new dimensions and seeing things from a different view. Books challenge my thinking, inspire my creativity, and offer solace in times of need. Every book I read opens up a new realm of wonder, making each reading experience a unique journey of discovery and growth. Through their diverse narratives, books invite me to explore new ideas, confront my fears, and embrace the unknown.

As I close the last page, I carry a piece of that world with me, transforming my reality with the wisdom and insights gained. Books leave lasting marks on my soul, shaping who I am and who I choose to be. They are companions on my journey through life, always-present sources of inspiration and reflection that transforms my view of the world.
