By: Evan Bian

Prime Minister Boris Johnson visit President Zelenskyy in Kyiv. Johnson makes plans for an army to help Ukraine.

Mr. Zelensky welcomed Boris Johnson, describing him as his country’s “great friend”. Boris was supposed to be at a meeting in the Yorkshire town of Doncaster, but he cancelled the visit to come to Ukraine. At a conference meeting Boris mentions a British program for Ukrainians to train, making them capable of accelerating their deployment, rebuilding their forces, and scaling-up their resistance. Soldiers would learn battle-winning skills for the front line, as well as basic medical trainging, cyber-security and counter explosive tactics. The government added international partners who were invited to also host this program. Boris arrived after some other European leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz who visited earlier on in the week. The European Commission backed Ukraine’s bid to join the European Union bringing it one step closer to joining it.
