Can these robots cure loneliness?

By: Jessica Sun

Audrey and Ken live together in a house with robots. Audrey is 84 and Ken is 86. One of their robots’ names is Astro. Astro looks like a mini vacuum cleaner with a tablet with a smiley face as a face. Astro does whatever his owners tell him to do—for example, dance with them.

One of the owners, Ken, likes to see his other robot Jibo dance. ”He can twerk,” says Ken. But sometimes, Ken gets angry with the robots when they ask things, because guests are over or he is minding his own business when the robots interrupt. The robots can help you with things like reminding you that you need to drink water or go on your daily walk, and they can help you feel less lonely and walk with you.
