After four years without contact, China and Australia have begun reaching out to each other again. This comes after a leadership change in government in Canberra, Australia.
Technology, trade and supposed Chinese influence in Australia had affected the China-Australia relation, including military and weapon plans.
According to the New York Times, China’s ambassador Xiao Qian said on Friday that “the change of leadership in Canberra was an “opportunity of possible improvement of our bilateral relations.”
He also added how both China and Australia’s atmospheres needed to be improved.
However, relations were cheered up by China’s interest in Australia’s resources, especially plants and iron.
There is still a lot of work to be done, and Australia is still working on their relationship with China.
