14-year-old, Chloe Covell, recently injured 2 of her fingers during skating practice. However, Chloe has decided to participate in the Paris Games despite this, as she says that she won’t let an injury stand between her and the Olympics .
This incident happened around 2 weeks ago during a training session in Los Angeles when she fell on her right hand. This resulted in her ring and pinky finger bending back and breaking. Chloe says this won’t affect her much and that,”big injuries for me are, like my wrists. I have little bones and I guess my wrists, the bones chip very easily, and my ankles, they always get chipped quite a bit and I’ve had a couple of stitches,’.
Covell, at the age of 14 years and 5 months, could become Australia’s youngest Olympic gold medalist, beating Sandra Morgan’s record of winning the Olympics at the age of 14 years and 6 months.
During her appearance at the Arc de Triomphe, a famous arch in Paris which honors those who fought and died for France in the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, she posed for photos and admitted that she was nervous about the upcoming olympics. “I’m definitely a little nervous because it is the biggest stage. The biggest competition and there are just famous people walking around everywhere,” she says.
The Olympic Games are right around the corner, so keep your eyes peeled for the skating sensation, Chloe Covell, on July 28 and August 6 when the women’s skateboarding matches are scheduled to occur.
