On Thursday, June 16, 2022, in game six of the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors
beat the Boston Celtics with a score of 103 to 90. This was Stephen Curry’s fourth
championship after 8 years, and his first time winning finals MVP, or most valuable player. This
means he was the player on a sports team who has performed best in a particular game or
series of games
The NBA has never seen anyone at his size have such a dominant, championship
influence. Curry had almost 30% of the Golden State’s 629 total points scored in the Finals.
He also had the most three-pointers in a 6-game series, NBA Finals with 31 threes, beating his
own record of 25 threes back in 2015.
After the game, Golden State Coach Steve Kerr said, “There’s no reason why he can’t
continue to have playoff runs like this.” Talking about Stephen Curry, Kerr concluded that there’s
“no reason” Steph Curry can’t continue to dominate NBA Playoffs. Coach Steve Kerr also
compares Curry to Tim Duncan, another NBA player, because they are both humble, selfless
leaders.
After the championship, Curry said, “I thank God every day that I get to play this game at
the highest level with some amazing people. They know this is what it’s all about, playing for a
championship, and what we’ve been through the last three years.” He really is one of a kind in
the NBA and has finally solidified himself as one of the greatest NBA players of all time.
