We all know that for everything that exists there is something that is the exact opposite of it. Like for fire there is ice, and for salt there is sugar. However, for pure energy what would its opposite be? Well, in a popular manga named Jujutsu Kaisen they say it’s cursed energy which I’m here to explain.

We first have to understand exactly what cursed energy is before we can dive into what it can do. Cursed energy is energy that is composed of negative emotions such as anger or sadness that we feel at some point in our lives.

Now that we know what cursed energy is, we can dive into what it can do. Now, with cursed energy, just like with normal energy, some of it can leak out into the world, and when enough cursed energy is in a certain place it can form a cursed spirit. These cursed spirits are,of course, evil-after all they are made of negative emotions. Since they’re evil they will want to kill people, and since they are made out of cursed energy they are able to use cursed energy,which makes them extremely dangerous to the average human.

Which is where jujutsu sorcerers come in. Now we know that in the Jujutsu Kaisen world, all humans have at least some cursed energy, but when a person has a lot of cursed energy they are able to see cursed spirits. Eventually they will learn to control their cursed energy and fight against the cursed spirits to protect them from humanity.

Now let’s talk about what exactly both cursed spirits and jujutsu sorcerers are able to do with this cursed energy. First, they are able to gauge how strong someone might be based on how much cursed energy they have, track someone down by following the cursed energy they leave behind, or figure which sorcerer’s or cursed spirit’s energy it is by its signature. Second, by controlling your cursed energy you can use it to strengthen yourself by channeling it to specific parts of your body. Next, there’s cursed techniques. Cursed techniques are like devices that require cursed energy to operate, and are much more powerful than cursed energy alone. Then there’s domains which require a huge amount of cursed energy, but basically makes a battlefield where everything is to your advantage.However when there’s 2 or more deployed at the same time they clash. Then there’s binding vows which are basically a contract giving something away and receiving something in return, but if you break it you can get punished severely. Lastly there’s black flashes which are rare, but when they happen, they exponentially multiply that attacks power by 2.5.

That’s basically cursed energy in a nutshell.
