The Euros are a chance for athletes to show their skills to the world, whether they’re a known superstar or someone new making their debut. So here are some young stars participating in the Euros this year.
Florian Wirtz from Germany is 21 and is a midfielder. In May, Bayer Leverkusen became the first German team to go an entire Bundesliga season without a loss. One of the team’s key players was Florian Wirtz. He was able to score 18 goals and 19 assists in the span of 47 games during that season, which greatly helped his team. Not only is Florian good as a midfielder, but he can also play as a right-winger. He has 9 siblings and his older sister is also a professional footballer.
Cole Palmer, a 22 year-old currently playing for Chelsea, is also an amazing midfielder. In 33 games, he scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists. He was also awarded the Premier League young player of the season award.
At the age of 16, Lamine Yamal plays forward for Baecleno. Lamine is seen as a rising young talent in the world of football, as he has broken many records at club and national level. He joined Barcelona when he was 15 and was the youngest goalscorer ever in La Liga history.
Arda Güler from Turkey is a midfielder for the team Real Madrid. At the age of 19 he has also broken records by becoming the youngest goalscorer for the country. His feats and skills have earned him the nickname of “Turkish Messi”. He is also able to play in multiple attacking roles.
Those are just a few young players football fans should watch out for in the 2024 Euros. There are many more that haven’t been discussed in this article, but surely viewers will be able to spot them by watching the Euros.
