Fire kept combusting for the seventh day as people from various countries came to help in eastern Europe.
Global warming is increasing wildfires from all over the world. It’s encouraging fires in two main ways,
temperature, and dryness. Because of extreme weather, the distribution of water on Earth is unequal. Water flooding in Indonesia, while Australia is having a one-in-a-thousand-year drought. It’s also causing extreme temperatures, making environments much easier to start a wildfire.
Seven days ago, a wildfire started in Greece, now, it’s compelling thousands of people to evacuate. Other parts in Europe such as Turkey, are also having wildfires. Eight lives were taken in Turkey. This situation is prolonging the drought and high temperature. On Sunday, you could see that the fires in Greece had dyed the sky orange, it’s no joke. There is a prediction that on Monday, the temperature will be up to forty one degree Celsius .( The average temperature in August is 27 degrees, which is 14 degrees lower. )
The most serious part of Greece that was affected by wildfires on Sunday was Evia, the second largest island in the country.“It’s a massive expanse where we can see a rekindling at any given moment.” Said Vasilis Vathrakoyiannis, a spokesman for the Greece fire service. The island has now more than 120,000 acres of land reduced to ashes, according to a video by the weather service of the National Observatory of Athens.
Four people are arrested for arson and setting fire through neglect. Actually, over 90% of the wildfires are caused by human activities. On the website of U.S. Department of the Interior, it warns that in order to stop wildfires, people should:
Check weather and drought conditions.
Build your campfire in an open location and far from flammables.
Douse your campfire until it’s cold.Keep vehicles off dry grass.
Regularly maintain your equipment and vehicle.
Practice vehicle safety.
Check your tires, bearings and axles on your trailer.
Keep sparks away from dry vegetation.heck conditions and regulations before you use fireworks or consider safe alternatives.
Cautiously burn debris and never when it’s windy or restricted.
Natural wildfires are sometimes good for the environment, only when there are too many–normally caused by humans–then they bring harm to not only the forests, but animals and humans.
