The company that makes Barbie dolls, Mattel, partnered with the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) in the US, and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) in the UK, to design a new Blind Barbie doll. The new Blind doll has many features, including clothes that the blind can feel so that they can tell what the Barbie is wearing. The doll also comes with a cane and dark glasses.

A person named Lucy began to lose her eyesight at 11, when she completely lost her eyesight at the age of 17, she was devastated. She said that she was so happy that the Blind doll got created because ever since she lost her eyesight she felt like nobody was like her. She was very sad because she felt isolated. But when the Blind doll got invented, she felt very happy because the doll meant everything to her because she also has to use a cane. The doll came with a cane to so she felt better because even a doll was like her.
