This year, Germany hosted the Euro 2024, an European tournament of soccer.

The opening match between Scotland and Germany took place at the Allianz Arena at Munich, on June 14th, with thousands of fans cheering them on. Germany started off strong, with Florian Wirtz scoring in the first 10 minutes of the match.

Less than 10 minutes later, Germany extended their lead, making it 2 – 0 with Jamal Musiala’s goal.

A penalty was awarded to the host of the Euro 2024 Cup just before half-time after Ryan Porteous from Scotland was sent off the pitch for a bad tackle. Kai Havertz scored the penalty, bringing it up to 3 – 0.

Niclas Fullkurg then brought Germany’s score up to 4 – 0 with a ferocious kick at 67 minutes into the game.

20 minutes later, Scott McKenna from Scotland kicked a ball that bounced off Germany’s Antonio Rudiger’s head into the goal, scoring Scotland their first point in the game.

However Scotland was too far behind, and Emre Can of Germany scored the final point at the 92nd minute, making the final score 5 – 1 Germany.

This 5 – 1 result is the biggest win in an opening match for the host nation in the European Cup, and is also Germany’s biggest win in the Euros.
