Glastonbury Festival 2024

The Glastonbury Festival is one of the largest festivals in the world, with music artists, a kids section, music lessons, a climbing wall, face painting, and lots of craft activities. This year’s is in Worthy Farm, a destination in southwest England. The festival lasts from June 26th to June 30th.

An estimated 200,000 lucky people will be heading to the festival, but everybody can listen to the Glastonbury performances on the BBC iPlayer.

Many music artists participate in the Glastonbury Festival! The Glastonbury tradition proclaims that the festival always has three big headliners. The festival this year invites Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA to the party! There are also other pop artists such as Olivia Dean, Anne-Marie and Camilla Cabello, bands including Jungle, Bombay Bicycle Club and Two Door Cinema Club, and other big names include Little Simz, Cyndi Lauper, LCD Soundsystem and Arlo Parks. Others in the past have been singers and bands like Paul McCartney, Beyonce, and Metallica.

Glastonbury isn’t all about music, there are also other fun activities! These include stations like crafts and friendship bracelets. If you’re a lucky person or watching the festival on TV, you will see the flags at the party. They range from state flags to pride flags! Sometimes these flags are used to help people locate their friends and family in the crowd, but mostly it’s because they represent religion. This festival also sells charity tattoos (not permanent) designed by the musicians themselves.

This year’s festival also expresses better weather than some of the previous festivals. The worst case was when in 1997 the festival was hit by torrential rainfall, and Neil Young’s performance was called off.

If you ever get lucky enough to go to Glastonbury, keep in mind all the wonderful things there, and be on the lookout for your favorite musician!
