Every second that passes,
Every tick and tock of the clock,
Is how much older we are growing,
And we’ll eventually grow out of our socks.
Time passes so fast.
At some point there’s an end.
We all die eventually,
But we should still live life to its best.
Every drop of sap,
That falls from the old maple tree,
Is a sign that we’re growing older,
By the very second, you see.
You start off with one candle on your cake,
But in a blink of an eye,
You run out of room,
And let out a sigh
Growing up can be like a frightening monster,
Though to others it may be like a dream come true.
Some feel that you grow more mature
While others muse over life’s brevity.
But Life is so long!
Why waste time on viewing life as something so unsung?
Why fuss over growing old,
When you’re still so young?
Don’t fear about what is yet to come.
Enjoy what is already here,
For it will grow and die too, someday,
But for now, let’s live life with a cheer.
