When I was 5, I wanted to be 7.
Because 7 meant I was in 2nd grade,
2nd grade meant lockers.
When I was 7, I wanted to be 10.
Because 10 meant I was double digits,
Double digits meant my first sleepover.
When I was 10, I wanted to be 13.
Because 13 meant I was a teen.
Being a teen meant being mature.
Now I am 13,
and I want to be 5.
Because 5 meant I didn’t have responsibilities.
Because 5 meant I didn’t have stress.
Because 5 meant my biggest worry was what was for lunch.
Because 5 meant I was a kid.
