There is a heat wave flowing from West Texas all the way down to the Florida beaches. This heat wave is so hot that many cities are even opening cooling centers.
The tornado that caused this is also endangering many people’s lives, as an 11 year old boy died because of it.
A lot of moisture is being pulled from the Gulf Of Mexico. This humidity change is not helping. It is making the heat index, or how hot it feels outside, to skyrocket. The National Weather Service is issuing excessive heat warnings. It says heat indexes will be range from 115 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
